Natibaby offers as many as five different types of baby carriers. Each one of them has its own particular traits that distinguish it from the rest. In order to select the perfect carrier to suit you, it’s good to learn more about them first.
NatiGo is equipped with a hip strap and shoulder straps fastened with buckles. The soft-padded hip strap and shoulder straps have an enormous impact on the comfort of carrying even heavier children. The weight is distributed evenly across the shoulders and hips of the person carrying the baby. The carrier is also very comfortable for the baby - the additional padding inside secures the legs and the nape of the baby’s neck against the material cutting into the skin. The hip strap and shoulder straps are adjustable, which means that the same carrier can be used by both parents (grandparents, aunts as well). The shortest length that the hip strap can be adjusted to is 73 cm, and it can be loosened up to 150 cm around the waist.
It’s a buckle carrier - the hip strap and the shoulder straps are fastened with buckles. It is meant for carrying even very small kids thanks to the additional straps that shorten the panel height from the bottom (sold separately). The adjustable NatiGrow carrier is really practical thanks to its main panel regulation system. This means that the carrier can be ideally adjusted to a growing child through regulating the width and height of the main panel in four areas: at the top of the panel - close to the baby’s neck, on the sides - at the width, through fastening the bands with small buckles, and at the bottom - at the leg level, through sliding a wide velcro band, which prevents the material from moving while in use. Thanks to this system the carrier can be used over a long time.
The Half Buckle carrier combines the best features of a carrier and a wrap sling. As opposed to buckle carriers, the Half Buckle has tied shoulder straps that are partially filled, which ensures the comfort of wearing, and the shoulder strap is fastened with a buckle, just like in the case of the buckle carrier. The panel snugly fits the baby - she’s swaddled almost like in a wrap sling. This carrier is undoubtedly extremely adorable since it possesses the features of a wrap sling, while also being very practical thanks to the easy buckle fastening of the hip strap.
The Mei Tai carrier is equipped with a hip strap and shoulder straps that are tied to a knot, as opposed to being fastened with buckles like in the case of the other carriers. The straps are partially padded, which has a significant impact on the comfort of wearing. The tie straps come in handy when used by people of very different body build. You don’t have to adjust the straps at the buckles every time, just tie the straps according to your needs. The carrier looks beautiful with a bow in the front, tied from the excess shoulder strap material.
The Onbuhimo carrier is fitted with shoulder straps, but not a hip strap, which has its upsides and downsides. It’s mainly designated for carrying kids on the back, but you can also carry them in the front. The width of the panel at the leg level can be altered by tightening the straps at the bottom of the carrier. The absence of a hip strap is an exceptionally practical solution for tall people who need to carry small kids. The hip strap, as the name suggests, should be located at the waist or hip level. When a tall person is carrying a small child it’s located pretty low, which isn’t comfortable and limits the baby’s visibility. The problem is nonexistent in the Onbuhimo carrier, since the baby is carried high on the parent’s back. The absence of a hip strap also makes it the most adequate carrier for pregnant women if they decide to carry their older child in a carrier, and for those people who, for one reason or another, need to avoid pressure on the stomach. It’s also a good carrier for the heat since the parent doesn’t have to wear as much material as with the other carriers. With bigger and heavier kids the absence of a hip strap can be less comfortable in comparison to the other carriers when taking longer walks.
The NatiGo, Half Buckle, Mei Tai, and Onbuhimo Natibaby carriers come in three sizes: Baby, Standard, Toddler. The NatiGo carriers have an additional fourth size: Preschool. The adjustable NatiGrow carriers are available in three sizes: Classic, Classic +, Preschool. When selecting the carrier size, the most important measurement to consider is the panel height. The size of the carrier can be easily selected based on the measurement guidelines on our website.
For instance, if the A-C measurement (the line going from the baby’s neck all the way to the bottom, with the legs tucked under) is 42 cm long, the Classic+ size for the NatiGrow carriers will be most adequate, since its panel height falls between 35 and 45 cm; the Standard size for the NatiGo, Half Buckle, Onbuhimo, and Mei Tai carriers, since the panel height for those carriers is 42 cm.
We have a couple of additional options for the Natibaby carriers. You can choose from three types of hoods, either permanently sewed into the panel or attached by snap fasteners, and a pocket on the hip strap, which can either be fastened with velcro or a snap. You can also select the version without the hood and the pocket.
